Upgrading a Shopping Mall by Restructuring

At the Spandau Arcades Shopping Centre in Berlin, the modernization of the interior was planned by the centre’s management. Part of the restructuring included new seating in the mall area.

The specific requirements for this project involved combining the existing plant troughs with the newly planned seating islands and using the upright elements as padded backrests. Additionally, this included indirect illumination of the polished stainless steel base.

5D Engineering resolved this task in consultation with the company responsible for interior decoration to the complete satisfaction of the customer. Despite arduous circumstances in the designphase, the final product was proven to be successful and is used frequently by customers in the Spandau Arcades Shopping Centre.
